The world as seen from above is a spectacular sight. Especially after darkness has fallen. From take-off to landing, you’ll know exactly how to make your way safely across the night-time landscape. This course qualifies a holder of a PPL(A) to take off, fly and land at night following Visual Flight Rules.
Your trajectory
EASA stipulates specific requirements for safe, independent flight in the night sky. To fulfil the requirements of the Night Rating training, you’ll need to complete at least 5 hours of flying in the appropriate aircraft category at night, including:
- at least 3 hours of dual instruction;
- at least 1 hour of cross-country navigation;
- at least one dual cross-country flight of at least 50 km;
- 5 solo take-offs;
- 5 solo full-stop landings.
Prerequisites
You’ll need to gain your PPL(A) and an SEP qualification prior to tackling the Night Rating course.
